Mo Rocca brings his MOBITURARIES to The Henry Ford, December 9th, 2019

On December 9th, 2019, Mo Rocca, host of The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation, will discuss his new book, MOBITUARIES: Great Lives Worth Reliving with guest moderator Ann Delisi, host of WDET’s Essential Music and Essential Conversations. Tickets are $45 with discounted pricing for members and includes a copy of MOBITURARIES. Opening remarks start at 7 pm. Tickets can be purchased by visiting thehenryford.org or by calling 313-982-6001.

With MOBITUARIES, the book companion to the CBS podcast of the same name, Rocca chronicles the stories of the people who made a difference, but whose lives were never truly examined. Using his expert researching skills and trademark wit, he brings the stories of notable captains of industry, innovators, world leaders and artists to life. Filled with new stories that fans haven’t heard on the podcast, the book features profiles on the pre-presidency of Herbert Hoover, Ada Lovelace – the 19th century mathematician credited as the first computer programmer, and the strange afterlife of Einstein’s brain.

Mo Rocca is a correspondent for CBS Sunday Morning, host of The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation. He’s also a frequent panelist on NPR’s hit weekly quiz show Wait, Wait…Don’t Tell Me! He spent four seasons as a correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and four seasons as a correspondent on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Mo began his career in TV as a writer and producer for the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning PBS children’s series Wishbone. He went on to write and produce for other kids’ series, including ABC’s Pepper Ann and Nickelodeon’s The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss. In addition to MOBITUARIES, he is also the author of All the Presidents’ Pets, a historical novel about White House pets and their role in presidential decision-making.

The evening’s guest moderator Ann Delisi has been an influential part of Detroit media for more than 20 years. From radio to television, Ann Delisi is a familiar voice to metro Detroiters. A Wayne State grad, Ann now hosts a show on WDET that is a fun, contemporary and thoroughly hand-picked approach to music that moves Detroit. Ann guides through the “essential music,” both new and familiar, that’s shaping our culture and features music made in Detroit every hour.
